You are tall, dark, and handsome, you love me and I love you,
But now you say,
"I have to go now, and fight for the red, white and blue."
"But I love you so much! You can't leave me this way!"
Crying,
"I am going to have our baby soon, and I am your fiancée!"
We are in our front yard, you hug me and give me a kiss,
You tell me you love,
My eyes start to water up, I can't handle this!
You turn around, in uniform, and slowly walk away from me,
I watch, crying,
Waving until you until you disappear, you I can no longer see.

I send you pictures of our new baby, long letters, and more,
You write back a lot,
Then the letters stoped coming, you never write back anymore.
I am writing you another letter as I hear the doorbell,
I jump with excitement!
Hoping it was you, my love, back from fighting hell!
I open the door to a sturdy, kind of frightening man,
My heart drops,
He said, "Good evening, I have some bad news for you ma'am."
With my 3 month old baby in my arms, I listen for more,
"Your husband..."
I start to cry, but the man continues, "he has passed away in the
war."

I cried and cried, day in and day out,
Missing you,
You're all I can think about!
You died, fighting for what you believed in, now your gone,
Leaving,
Leaving soon-to-be wife and newborn daughter, the angels sing your song.
Now my daughter and I will forever be hurting inside,
I can't believe you left us... I can't believe you died.
