Fear Not Death

It happens so quick, the passage of life
Night falls, and you take one last breath
So many angels by your side, guiding the way
Wanting you to come with them
So that you may go into the light
These thoughts occupy my mind
The thought of losing you strikes me
Scares me cold, my breath so chilling
My body trembling with fear
Not the fear of death
But the fear of distance, of not being with you
Of knowing you so well, but now knowing only a spirit
My love was strong, my love was deep
Death comes so fast, but you live life
Eternity exists only in the heart
I still feel your touch, your breath
Your smile is still there
It's in the sun, the clouds, the wind
The wind that blows through my hair
Whispering to me, telling me that you're okay
That you're waiting for me
For my time
The thought of losing you seems impossible
Dreams of you come to me at night
Your eyes staring into mine
So beautifully, so sweet
Reflections of our memories, our time shining through
we lived, we loved
Fear not death
