A Silhouette of Yesterday

climbing through the path to the end of what's already known,
yielding for the rapturous ascent to nonexistence.
my perception gone astray,
dismantled fantasies hide beneath the ashes of another plane.
a rhythm lingers in my head, echoing like silhouetted voices
reminding me that days are long, so easily forgotten
and of vanished silences, never to be heard again.
clinging to a fragment of the memories that fade
and reaching for the scribbles in the sand before they wash away,
leaving nothing but the remnants of a tarnished yesterday.
