Relieving the Pain

This sad; sad girl stares back at her reflection in the mirror. She notices
the ugly color of her eyes, which she greatly despise.
She examines her horrible face, and thinks to her self, “Oh what a
disgrace.”
She looks at her fat thighs, and mutters, “What my friends say are just
lies.”
She kept all those secrets, of how she really felt hidden inside. She needed
an escape, a way to release all her pain. So each and every night, she
grabbed the sharp knife, or whatever suited her needs. Her needs to relieve
her pain, she thought, a way for her to stay sain. Every night, what once
were scratches, became bloody, deep cuts. The scars lasted longer, and
hiding her secret became harder. She knew she should tell someone, so she
confided in her friends. Her friends all tried to help, but they just
couldn’t relate to the pain she felt. In return, they all started having
“problems”, and resolved them the way this girl had. But this was too much
for her, she didn’t want her friends, her only help to be sucked in her
depression. She blamed herself for them starting to hurt. So instead of her
getting help, she continued with cutting, and even attempted… to end her
life. Won't anyone reach out to this young and lost girl. So sad,
that look in her eyes... Isn't it a shame...
