She sat on the rocks,
Letting the water splash against her face,
Mingeling with her misery.
She allowed her salty pain to fall into the sea.
She sat staring at her reflection,
Watching it become distorted,
As a new wave would come in,
And each time her own waves would make ripples.
She held company with despair that day,
Listening to Siren tunes,
Sing out her story of agony.
Despair told her that he would be her friend,
Since she now had no others.
He stayed by her side,
As another wave soaked her dress,
And as she slowly stepped into the sea.
He asked her where she was going,
She replied that she was going to right a terrible wrong.
Stepping out further into the water,
She sank below the surface,
Closing her eyes.
If she were to drown,
Than no one would miss her,
And not even the news reporters,
Or the people that would find her, would care.
So she let herself sink to the sandy bottom of the water,
Knowing that no one would save her.
She looked over,
Despair was lying beside her.
So that he would be with her,
Even in death.
