I could be so much more than who I am,
If only I were given a chance,
For what I still don’t understand,
Is why I was put here?
Amongst the living I do not belong,
In the midst of the dead is the place I call home.

My soul has been searching for a place to fit in,
So long it has searched, and at last it found home,
But for as long as I am destined to remain here,
The closest place to home I can be,
Is in this necropolis where it may seem to the world,
I’m all alone.

But I’m not on my own in this place full of life,
Not to the world to which this void belongs,
Surrounded by the presence of the deceased,
I close my eyes and I join them,
For until I awaken,
I’m home.
