The Baby Bird...

In my pool I looked down and saw,
A little baby bird and it's poor broken claw.

I ran to the basement and took out a broom,
And tried to save it from its doom.

It fell on the cement, I thought it would fly,
I was so scared...and started to cry.

The poor sweet baby could not walk,
It looked as if it was attacked earlier by a hawk.

I ran inside and put on some gloves,
Picked it up..and tried to show it some love.

I held it close as tears fell from my eyes,
Please dear God, don't let this bird die.

For hours and hours, I held that poor baby bird,
Tears fell down, though I couldn't utter a word.

I decided to put in a small box with grass,
And hoped no animals would harass.

As the day went on, I could only think of,
That sweet little bird with a face like a dove.

I looked at the window around 4 o'clock,
And saw the mother bird arrive with a flock.

She picked him up with her wing and flew away,
And was happy I might've saved him from dying today.

*This is a true story that happened a few weeks ago...and if this ever
happens to you, I'm sure you'll feel the same way*
