I never knew a better friend,
Then the one
That slept at
The end of my bed.

You would listen to my thoughts,
Hold my dreams close,
Nudge me just right,
Letting me know it would be alright.

Curling up by a warm fire,
Snuggled together,
I always wanted it
To last forever.

At night it was the best,
I could listen to you breath,
Your soft doggie scent,
And how you were so surreal

I thought the day would never come,
When that sweet breathing stopped,
You were the one
That always had such a brave heart.

Seeing you there
At the edge of my bed,
Your body still and motionless,
Felt more like a dream.

My bestfriend,
My life partner,
And the one who
I would always adore,

You left me in my dark room,
For the rest of my life,
All your suffering will be over,
No longer will you ever roll over.
