she knew something was wrong,
she helped you become strong.
you go somewhere and she comes along,
she cheers you up with one of her songs.

how could you repay her for all she has done,
she made sure you were constantly having fun,
she got rid of your darkness, showed you the sun,
kept you on track, but still let you run.

What can you give someone who means so much,
Someone who makes you want to take life in your clutch,
This person who you can talk to and touch,
Who, when you broke you feelings, gave you a crutch.

Is there a way to give her back what she gave to you,
She gave her time, when she had so much to do,
She never told anyone, she was honest and true,
With her by your side, you made it through.

She was there for you, when times were tough,
You wouldn't have made it, it would've been too rough,
What can you give her? Thanks is not enough,
She grabbed your hand, pulled you out of the slough.

Now she's going through the same thing,
Be there to help, but try not to cling,
If she wants to fly, offer her your wing,
If she loses her voice, help her to sing.

Be by her side...Be a friend,
Her sorrowful mood, try to mend,
Your friendship is what you must now extend,
Help her to see that this is not the end.
