you sit as you watch them fall
but even if you never cared at all
take a step back, look just this one time,
can't you see the way is harder than the climb?
and if they don't make it
just because they won't fake it
whose fault will it be?
who will need to come and see?
how much longer till they fall?
their time has come to a crawl
you watch, and you sit, and you stare
listening feebly to a last prayer
how could you know?
watching their life go to and fro,
aren't you a shame
bet you won't even take the blame
when you know it's you
you know what you could do
but you won't, you'll stall
you'll sit and you'll stare till they fall
