Closed Minds

Trapped in conformity,
And hidden in sadness,
And disgrace,
They crawl through life with closed minds.
Hearing and seeing only what suits them.
They care not of other's misfortunes,
Carrying the weight of vanity,
Passed to them by the world.
The self righteous ones,
Who think they are doing so well.
With greedy eyes,
They cast down their judgement,
On the "less deserving."
They sneer at those bellow them,
Their noses stuck in the clouds.
They walk with their heads held high,
Though there is nothing to be proud about.
With dark and hateful eyes,
We watch as they pass by.
We have pity in our hearts,
Because only we can see their decline.
They go on through life,
With candied lies on their lips.
But we have seen it all before,
And we are not impressed.
