On Your Sorrowful Heart

you have so much to say,
but no one here to listen,
you hold back the tears,
lying behind eyes that glisten.

as they yell and scream,
you look away,
why does these people,
make you cry everday.

when it's all over and done,
you run to your room,
the only safe place,
to cry about your gloom.

you sit on your bed,
and for awhile you stay,
when you finally come out,
you pretend everything's okay.

pretend--that is the key word here,
act like nothing happened,
and dry that sad little tear,
try your best to see clear.

your head hurts--stomach aches,
another day that you feel sick,
your health is becoming more at stake,
god, is this some kind of trick?

to help you be a better person,
live a better life,
because god it's not working,
only giving you more strife.

please god, take away that pain,
you really don't want to part,
and help get rid of that stain,
on your sorrowful heart
