I Died For Love

Upon thine empty heart,
Sits a single lonely dove,
Wondering why she’s all alone,
Wondering what happened to her love.

The lost dream where her feathers lie,
Gives way beneath her dusty nest,
Her wings stay closed as she falls to the ground,
No more she sees reason to continue her quest.

Left all alone and she sees that now,
And as the plummets to her end, a lonely tear,
Runs down her sad pale face,
For all is lost of this little life, and there’s just nothing left to fear.

Her final seconds just ticking by,
Hitting the ground but with a tiny sigh,
So at night when you look to the stars above,
Just remember this,
I died for love.
