Goodbye Soldier

You came to me and said goodbye
I tried to be strong but started to cry

Far overseas to a sleepless land
You are unaware of your command

To protect and to defend
You will prevail until the end

No matter what, a hero you will be
For fighting and defending dignity

Please be careful not to die
Do not make our nation cry

When it's done you will return
And share with us so we can learn

We thank you for all that you do
This country salutes all the soldiers like you
