When I look into your eyes
My mind always draws a blank
Somewhere in those few seconds
My world feels almost perfect

But then I realize the worst
You aren’t really looking at me
Your eyes are somewhere else
Looking in to the eyes of another

The warmth is all gone now
Only a shiver is left in my body
The body of a person left to wonder
To wonder whom her lover is really seeing

But when our eyes part each other
Everything is still the same
Because something that was never with you
Can never actually leave
