My Promise

I have a rush of questions
Going through my mind.
Wondering if I should die,
The next day.
Wondering if people would miss me,
If I’m not there.
Would I cause any hurt,
For the people that I love?
Pain or fault?
Or would they be glad
If I’m gone?
That I’m out of their lives forever!
I promised one,
I would not kill.
I intend to keep that promise,
To her and to me.
She has thought about what I’ve promised her.
Killing that was her game.
I told her I would not kill,
I intend to keep my life.
