The Beauty of the Night

Simple as the twinkling stars,
Hearts pain shadowed by the night,
All but smiles and freedom,
Locked away and bound so tight.

The moon it gently shimmers,
Upon the falling rain,
Sparkling water runs down her body,
Washing away all the pain.

Falling down disguised and hidden,
Not recognised as tears,
No more questions as to why she cries,
She rests alone with no more fears.

Her eyes closed as she stands with the shadows,
Smiles appear as she reaches for the sky,
She thanks the stars for taking her pain,
And letting her soar so, so high.
