A Brother and A Daddy

To my brother off you go into the hands of war
Trekking on territory you have never seen before

You walk across to sign your name before our last goodbye
I hope I will see you again. I hope you do not die.

If during your fight you are struck too hard or a bullet hits just right.
You will die very dignified knowing that you gave your life to fight.

We all will cry because of our loss, a soldier brave and strong.
How can I teach your little girl that peace is good and fighting is wrong?

How can I explain to her that her daddy will not return?
How can I replace the relationship that she will for forever yearn?

War and hate kill everyday. That doesn’t make it right.
Please go and finish it off. Make this our last fight!
