Wars in the Night Sky

The darkened sky, night...
I know it well, for I watched it often.
One night the sky was free of clouds,
And I saw the stars.
I started to watch them as well,
And soon was lost in thought.
Those stars in the night sky,
Are they nothing more than a mixture of gas
Burning eons away?
Or could they be more?
Yes, they could. They could be the warriors
Of the gods, battling forever in the land of night.
The sparkling of them would be their weapons
Clashing, or perhaps a display of strength
As they show off their seemingly impenetrable
Armor as the moon's light glistens off of it,
Further showing its brilliance.
Now a new question,
Are these wars long from over,
Or do they still continue?
I bring myself back, as I seem to really get lost,
And put the thought aside for now.
As I start to go inside my home though,
A broken sword falls down at my feet.
I pick it up, and look back at the sky and find myself
Lost in thought once again.
