I cry to you, oh Father
I'm so desperate for this darkness to end.
Lead me back to that state of contentment
Where I can be wrapped within Your arms once again.
I have not forgotten You, My dear Father
I have just lost my way.
I call out for You in desperate need
For too long I've lead myself astray.
This is not a wanting I have longed for
For this is not how I have wanted to live.
There is no sin I have worn with pride, my dear Father
I understand if you were never to forgive.
But how righteous you truely are, my God
For I can just fall down on my knees and pray.
Knowing that all those wrong doings in my past, with a prayer
Can be washed away.
There's more to life than what I thought I deserved
Oh, how selfish I became.
But with you, oh my dear heavenly Father
I'll never again be the same.
I cry to You with tears of joy
For joy fills my very heart.
For I'll never forget the way You have given me
A never ending love from the start.
You never turned Your back on me
I turned my back away from You.
But I have returned to stay for good this time.
Wrapped within your arms, my whole life through.
