Ignorance & Innocence

Little girl from the past,
tell me,
why did you grow up so fast?

Your eyes, so innocent.
Your heart, undamaged;
not knowing how the world is savage.

The harsh needles of maturity
have peirced your heart,
prying away it's purity.
A new life, you must start.

Forgiving eyes have been blinded
by the stigmatic rays of the sun.
Oblivous to change,
your journey has begun.

Ignorance is bliss, they say.
Little girl, you'll understand one day.
