She looks in the mirror
What does she see?
A reflection that she cannot ignore
There’s more than what appears to be
Just looking at the reflection, could you tell?
She has two brothers, both old and young
And they’re both doing quite well.
One’s in the armed forces and the other has quite a tongue
She lives with both her mother and dad
Together, they are
Happily married for twenty years and glad
They’ve always thought of each other whether near or far
Beyond her reflection, she can’t deny
She was born in a country where God saved the Queen
But she has the nationality of being American and Pinay
A citizen of one she can choose when she turns eighteen
She loves folding flora and fauna out of paper
She’ll read and write poetry in her spare time
All though most of her poetry end up as wastepaper
It is a bit of a challenge to make things rhyme
Once out of high school, she wants to teach
Her goal to become a role model for little children
She wants to make an outreach
To become a teacher is what she wanted since she was ten
The reflection in the mirror isn’t just a girl
There’s more beyond the reflection and what is meant to be
From her almond eyes to straight black hair without a single curl
The girl standing before the mirror is none other than me
