Feeling lost
With only a sense of desperation
The only thing you have in common
Are the miles of separation

At the time you saw her
She was crying hard
Everyone was huddled
But you protected like a guard

You didn’t know what happened
Or even that he wasn't there
But you saw her weeping
And told her to share

He had been killed
His plane had crashed
And to you it feels
As if your world has been smashed

Your dad’s gone
Will mom be all right?
This is the first time
She’ll be alone at night
