Hidden Beast

Dark blue eyes flash in the blackness,
Run away for failure will be sadness.
To stay will mean tearing of soft flesh.
It’s already too late if you feel his warm breath.

In the morning light he seems beautiful and nice.
The dark black night reveals his deathly vice.
His only thoughts are to consume and devour,
And he will do all that’s within his power.

Your only safety are the chains he himself adorns,
But in his monstrous state they are but thorns.
Alone within the darkness his monster is sterile,
But to join him, chains and resistance are futile.

He cannot control or hide the monster within him that abides.
All his strength in the light attempts from it to divide.
In the dark it robs his strength and him it overtakes.
Only in the absence of the soft can the beast’s bonds he break.

The only hope for him now is to keep the soft away,
Until a soft comes to save him and take the beast away.
A heroic one she must be to brave his treachery.
She mustn’t flee, but with the sword cut him at the knee.
