Dream Kingdom

Clinging to your memory,
Longing for night’s chill,
Can’t set free the pain you left,
No matter how loud I may yell.

Caged within these skies so vast,
Of smouldering blackened souls,
Fairies granting hopes and dreams,
Me left ablaze on blistering coals.

Swirling winds surround my heart,
Frozen every feeling,
Shadowed hope, a tear appears,
I stand and watch the spirits leaving.

Icy cover over my eyes,
My one true path to freedom,
And to this very day I have been waiting,
To open the door and enter my kingdom.

Now one day soon I shall have my wings,
Flying in the air,
And when my soul is gliding free,
I will not need to care.
