there is a girl
she’s all alone
praying for someone
to call her own
to share the pains
which stain her heart
to face the fears
so they depart

to breathe again
just like before
to remember the memories
deep within her core
to laugh and smile
to dance to sing
remember the happiness
that life can bring

without the horrible thoughts
that dim her past
without the dreadful feelings
she is forever arriving last

inside her broken heart
is a lost soul
screaming for help
ceases control
forfeiting the game of life
far too easily
believing that up above
is where she’s meant to be

for she is fighting a battle
that no man can prevail
a fierce horrible struggle
leaving her to fail

with head held high
and fake smile worn
she is forever hiding
the secrets no one will ever know
about her for she is lying

please love this girl
for deep inside
she is gradually dying
keep her close and dry her tears
whenever she is crying

this is the girl
from the start
who is writing this poem
from within her heart.
