My Unexpected Truth

My heart races
Speeding beats unfelt
With him happier than ever
As my heart begins to melt.

Conversations continue through the night
Laughs and jokes told as we speak
Looking into his eyes
I begin to feel weak.

Then I realized what I have done
Something I never though I would
I fell for someone else
Not knowing how I even could.

Tears begin to roll down my face
And when he sees what’s on my mind
He tells me to keep my heart for you
But still answers I need to find.

How could I even do this
To you whom I love so well
It seems impossible that I even did
Almost like a casted spell.

He told me it was fine
Stay with you, we were just friends
But somehow I knew
This was not the end.

He actually reminds me of you
Having the consideration of what’s on my mind
Caring about how I feel
Telling me everything will be alright.

Wrapping his arms around me
Telling me it will be okay
Reminded me of when you
Guided me out of my depression days.

My promise for loving you forever
Will always be kept
So do me something in return
Please don’t ever forget.

I love you with all my heart
Thanks for understanding, Chris
Because it honestly took
So much of me to tell you this.*
