The Grip

Everything is normal, then it grips you
It grips and won’t let go, until you writhe in pain
It twists your insides until you cant breathe
Gasping for a breath as you look on and watch
The evilness in the actions are unbearable
Thoughts race through my mind as the image does not fade
I blink once, twice, hoping that it will disappear
The warmth upon my cheek tells me that I have lost
All the hard work that I put in has not been enough
Mistakes are made; this one will not be able to be forgiven
Sudden urges to punch and hurt someone or thing
Wanting to end the pain inside
I take deep breath after deep breath, calming the pain
Not understand what went wrong
Fury pulsated through my veins
Amazingly the tears are gone from my eyes
Replace by slight understanding
Back straight, steps determined, I walk over
I hand him his notebook back and walk away
Upon hearing my name, I just shake my head, and continue
The pain tearing me apart, the grip ever so slightly letting go
