Are you satisfied now
because you were able to know what i was thinking
know i had been fiending

for a little bit more

one last sweet taste
one last sweet score

i think i'll sleep here tonite
i don't want to be in your way
i'm chasing you to make you stay
i don't want to hear what you say

about me

i can't see
you keeping
me believing
it's alright
when it just might
not be
when i'm sleeping
and dreaming
and running
and hunting
for soul food
and a sound roof
and some proof
that i'm really here
and you're really near
and you won't be
leaving me
for a better life
in a better time
cause i need you
and i'll tell you
i'm not ashamed
to say i've changed
if you're with me
i won't be
keeping or pleading
or wasting your time

**note: this is actually an abstract poem about a girl that has a drug
addiction and wants to be loved by the person that turned her away.
