The Day Everything Changed

September 11th was the date,
Many of them had met their fate.

Too many innocent lives were taken,
We all wish it was mistaken.

All the sorrow and the grief,
Many people just couldn’t believe.

We had so many mixed emotions,
On this day of such commotion.

It took a while for all this to sink through,
Everyone just wished there was something they could do.

The FDNY and police did everything they could,
They just wanted to make everything good.

They lost many men while saving people’s lives,
Many would never again get to see their husbands and wives.

We thank them for all the effort they put in,
In our hearts they truly did win.

So many futures were rearranged,
This was the day that everything changed.
