Staring at the window
Waiting to see his car
Head on her hands
She waits patiently for his call
Telling her he'll be right over
She hears a sound come close
She peeks her head out to see
A different car drives by
Passed the house, her smiles fades
But being the little optimistic girl she was
She puts that smile upon her face
Once again
She knows he'll come
He promised her so
As the time flys by
Minutes turn into hours
She slowly realizing he'll never come
That day to pick her up
And as her smile fades once more
The clear sky turns black
And the rain falls hard
She turns away from the window
Knowing her dad won't show.
