as words sprawl
across this lineless page
my eyes open fall
upon a picture of your face
pausing in my work
I reflect back on when
we were together
when we had each other
silhouettes
dance across my face
blank eyes staring
at half filled page
your picture nearby
tears stain your face
it seems like you
also cried tonight
without limits
or any bounds
simple words run
black ink stains the page
tainting pure white
my heart,
my eyes,
my love
trapped in a picture
written by these words
silhouettes
frozen in my ink
no sketches have I drawn
but worlds I’ve scrawled
in dim light with
saddened eyes
and tear stained pages
slowly, keep breathing
hands clenched tight
and tears falling free
my Lord, I can’t
understand your reasons
why’d you have to
call her away?
my life is dull
free from lined pages
but held by despair
more restricting than
black lines
or black ink
silhouettes
have left me alone
kneeling on the floor
resting in my tears
torn by despair
your picture in hand
blood from my lies
the gun seems to kind
to free my despair
a picture is worth a
thousand words,
but only one bullet
