The pollution of every lie
fills my lungs as I breathe in
and goes straight to my heart
as I breathe out again

With every little deception
comes more pain and wondering
of why people just can't say
what exactly they are mumbling

They tell you that your beautiful
but whisper the unknown truth
and you know in your heart
what they really perceive of you

They tell you you're accepted
but talk quietly behind your back
and you know that they are lying
your emotions have no respect

Why can't they just tell you
what they really feel inside?
I just can't understand
what they have to hide

This world of deceit and anger
is driving me insane
they think that they are sparing me
but they're causing me more pain

Don't you understand
it's what you DON'T say that I hear?
All the lies and tension
held in a simple, single tear

So just speak up and let me know
what you really think of me
Stop my wondering mind
and set my scarred soul free...
