so i guess this is how it ends, my friends
here, out on the street, out in the pouring rain
so this is where it comes to close, dear friends
swalled by pride, dignity, and pain

but what did you ever see, my friends?
a stilled figure lying shamed on the cold floor?
how could you have known, that inside, deep within,
i've been reaching and reaching for so much more?

now the rain falls, like it never had before
and i can see this calling, like i never will again
and so you see my solution, the one that we all feared
i guess this is the ending, friends,
the ending, of the end.
