You Lost a Friend

You turned your back
On what we used to be
And in turn
You lost the friend in me

I'm tired of your crap
It's not what I deserve
So I'm writing you off
And regaining the respect I earned

I know that as a person
And once a former friend
I should wish you well in your life
All the way to its very end

But for one more time
I'm going to sink low
And hope your life is ripped to shreds
And you're left with nowhere to go

In years' past
I never would have said those words
We were once the best of friends
We flocked together like birds

So it hurts me to feel that
But at the same time not
There's too much bad blood
That turns our anger hot

So goodbye to you
And the good times that we shared
And the times we talked about our lives
When both of us cared
