Wilted flower by the broken window
Shattered glass litters the floor in the dream place we once both shared
Desires now lifeless and untouched, left weeping in your dying leaves
If I was the sun, you strove for darkness
Always wishing to turn away
Casting me down and then looking aside, as if you didn’t see me standing
there
Tempting me with your despair, and laughing at the way I held on
Yet still I hold on, longing to drown and dwell forever in your depths
The recesses of your eyes are where my soul resides
Locked with the key you forged yourself but left for me to find.
But once you encased me in your memory, why did you depart for other
plains?
With me still lying in abandoned shadows, in the form of crumpled papers on
the floor
Alone with your sorrows, and the footprints in the dust you left behind
What use is your nightmare when I must live without your face?
