Cut In Two- Me And You

She sits alone at her desk
Seeing the man she once left
Daydreaming the dreams she once dreamt
And twiddles her fingers
Left fourth wrapped in gold

She awakens from her midday slumber
Calls me to her office
There is one, you know
One for you. One for me
But I let mine go.

So I ponder the one
Meant only for me
And know in my hear
Who it is
Will always be

My best friend
Confidant
He knows all my secrets
And does not hold it against me.
I know his. And is scares me.

My ticklish spot.
My raucous laugh.
The birthmark on my shoulder.
My plan to live in Texas.
How much I hate feet.

His life around the world.
Absent father.
Son from a previous relationship.
Taste for Crown and Coke.
Insane driving record.

So much we know about each other.
The trivial. The deep.
So much I can't wait to learn.
To share about myself.

The way you like your steak.
I don't eat brussels sprouts.
When you broke your first bone.
Degree by twenty-six.

If she's not lying
And there is that single one.
I know I've found you.
My friend
My second half.
