Pure Rain

Finding simple beauty
In heart-wrenching pain
Shunning golden sunlight
Basking in the rain

Cleansing bloody wounds
Erasing haunting fears
No one sees you crying
Rain hides the salty tears

Time has no meaning
Drowning in the downpour
Soul is emptied out
Emotionless no more

Heart ceases to beat
As you fall to your knees
Wishing you'd made heard
Your silent screams and pleas

All alone, left to die
You say one final prayer
Wishing God was listening
Hoping he'll be there

You died that night, in the rain
Refreshingly pure and clean
The blood that poured from you
Remains again unseen
