A little girl...Everything you do effects her,
Look in her eyes, They're all questions,
Why doesnt her dad come home..Shes waiting,
At 1 month old she waited for her daddy to get home,
The first day of school she walks in not even happy to be there,
Children playing, She watches the parking lot...wating,
At six years old she waited for her daddy to come,
Here's the wedding, here it is, along with silent tears,
She walks down the isle holding moms dress,
A tear streams down her face,
As she looks up at this stranger whos now taken place of her father,
She turns her head and stands there...waiting,
At eight years old she misses the man shes never known,
A teenager already,
Here's the big one are you ready,
Rock music, yelling mom, black clothes,
Blonde hair, tears and fears, broken hearts and still no dad,
Finally a teen and knows whats missing,
At 14 he pulls into the driveway with papers,
Anger flares as he aproaches the door,
Staring down on her he doesnt know her name,
To him fatherhood is a paycheck and a game,
She had no clue who he was till mom yelled at him as he came,
Every other weekend?
She sees her dad,
Thinking he's a better man,
All the bills are paid,
Diapers changed,
Lifes rearranged,
Hearts fixed and this man comes in as a stranger,
This life of a lost dad,
What happens when you begin to think he was better off not had.
