Are You The One?

Are you the light from deep inside?
Tell now all of who you are,
Of why ‘tis you who dwells within,
And all yet nought of who was him.

Are you the one to whom my soul calls?
The part of my dream lost forever adrift?
Prayers sent to my heart for this not to be so,
Impossible love to combine would be low.

Heart and heart in bloody battle,
Slaying banished dreams,
Loving lonesome weeping souls,
Separated by Earth’s coals.

But through the windows which are my eyes,
I see nought but hate and despise,
World so far away from where we do fly,
Yet many a night of tears I shall cry.

Heart speaks to my soul always telling me yes,
But no telling me are all of the rest,
Combined hearts of two against all this cruel world,
I believe in our love, but I’m scared and I’m cold.

Help me through this tangled web,
Of rejection by numbers and of hearts just left bled,
Through society’s evil toward feelings of love,
For the end of our days ‘til set free to above.
