Family of Slaves

She used her last breaths
To say good-bye,
She told her mother
It was her turn to fly.
She refused to live,
Her days in pain.
She wished she could leave
With him on that train.
But she knew if she left
Her family would suffer.
She would cause their death
It would be lamed on her.
So instead of living a lie,
Or killing her family,
She decided to die.
She left them willingly.
But they weren't happy
In fact they died too
You see, this was a family of slaves,
Killed by me and you.
