Must I wait for your return?

"Must I wait in vain for your return,
while you live your dreams undauntedly?"
Amidst unsettling pain I carry a torch
in memory of you, hoping once more
you will walk through that door.
"Am I only fooling myself, in thinking
our love still exist?"
I have caged myself in, unable to grasp reality;
Lost self along the way and the
shackles have become tighter around me
Will you free this fragile heart of mines once more?
I have become but a laughing stock
as I live in shadow of hopes and dreams
of your return..
Should I let go or
Should I remain in the dark
wondering if you'll come back?
