He hung in the heart around her neck
still he refused to drop his weight and let her run away
with the wind blowing through her hair

he swung back and fourth
choked her bit by bit
he was dying so slowly
like the ciggerette that was once lit

the flame grew dim
she looked into his eyes
and relized it wasnt him

the chain grew tight
with each sun set
she waited and waited
until he lay her heart down to rest

he had become
the horrifying fear
she didnt wanna look at him
she didnt want him near

she begged
to erase the marks upon her neck
the ones the chain had made
the chains he had wrecked

love gets lost
somewhere in the dark
she wont forget him
she cant
theres still all the scars
theres still all the marks

if you ever need me
look in your heart

the chain around her neck
forever he will stay
he cant let her go
all she can do is pray

if you need to find me
ill be in your heart
