This Knife Cuts Guilt

Take this knife
Into your hands
Cut out the part of you life
That you can't stand.

I watch you bleed
Before my eyes
What do you need
To save your soul that dies?

You cut deep
Trying to cut out the pain
Your blood, it seeps
Out from your veins.

Horror stricken
I run to save you
My heartbeat quickens
I don't want to lose you.

It's not enough
So again the blade sinks in
You try to act tough
But you feel helpless within.

I can see you put up the bricks
That make up your wall
I've grown tired of your tricks
That keeps me from answering your calls.

You try to hold yourself up
But fail so miserably
Wondering why you can't stop
The feeling of being guilty.

I know what you've done
Before you confess
And you seem stunned
As I grab your hand to hold through this mess.
