An Ode to Darkness

Stick a dagger in my throat, tie me up and watch me choke.
With wings of lead the blood runs down, and demons claim their blasphemous
crown.
I lie awake and wonder why, the moon is full and the wolves cry,
The endless pain, it floods the sky, black until the end of time.
On ebon wings the darkness soars,
Searching for souls that life ignores.
The wind, it blows, the thunder, it rolls when sorrow's bell has rung its
toll.
The end of life and all is well, when lakes of human blood do swell.
So dig my grave, and dig it deep, so the earth my soul does keep.
Now watch the signs and learn them well,
For nothing can teach you more than the story life has to tell.
Now dry you tears, until tomorrow, when light is done and death does follow
every shadow at your door,
'till darkness reigns forevermore.
