Paper Flowers

A paper flower, so fragile, cradle it with care.
A paper flower, so delicate, it would take next to nothing to crush it in
your hand.
Just one spark would set it ablaze; just one drop of rain could end its
days,
If left out in the sun too long, it will fade, and if left in the darkness,
no one will ever know it was made.

A paper flower, so pretty, it's beautiful just sitting there.
A paper flower, so perfect, its forced superficiality cannot be compared.
Just sit and look pretty, and then get tossed aside.
No protection for paper, easily shredded by the razors of lies.

A paper flower, so similar, to my lost, forgotten self.
A paper flower, so symbolic, of the soul that we throw out.
For if you are made of paper- you will be crushed within a day.
But fear not, my paper friend, for it all ends today.
