Monsters Within

I felt something inside me
Something dark and cold
More poisonous than cyanide
And more rotten than mold
Like a tumor it quickly grew
It crawled beneath my skin
With souless eyes, a loveless heart
And a deadly sharpened grin
Claws like long and rusty nails
Flesh like hard concrete
Writhed inside me like a maggot
In a piece of rancid meat
Then one day it scratched and tore
From out my skin it burst
And lapped up all the blood that flowed
To satisfy its thirst
Then the creature stood before me
Black as the dead of night
And though I tried I couldn't move
Frozen in my fright
With fangs exposed it shot down
As fast as lightning
Before I even knew what happened
I was inside the thing
Now I swim in a sea of darkness
Unhappy thougts float in my head
Sadly I know I created this beast
Consumed by my own hatred
