Suddenly I become numb
at the thought of what is to be,
As if they know what is to come
the days pass swiftly by;
At the thought of what I can not change
as you go away
it releases so much pain;
You will leave,
and I will stay;
and with each passing day,
as you sit in classes
with the masses,
I’ll still be here waiting for Christmas when you return
You’ll be changed,
I’ll still be the same;
As you learn more than I may ever know
Will you ever think of me?
Think of how it used to be,
When it was you and me?
With the distance that will be between us,
could it ever be the same?
