Crimson Tears

Forgive me Lord,
For I have sinned.
Given into the temptation,
That I feel within.

With the help of a knife,
I cry a crimson red.
Savoring the pain,
Like the food I'm fed.

I slide the blade,
Across my skin,
Praying for the courage,
To press in.

Down it drips,
Out from my veins,
Falls to the carpet,
And there it stains.

If I could cry,
Then I would,
But the tears just won't fall,
Like they should.

Soon this wound,
Will begin to scar,
A constant reminder,
Of how I tried so hard.

So hard to stop,
So hard to forget,
These thoughts that stray,
As I watch the wound seal with regret.
