The candle was burning,
Did you even notice the flame?
Forever yearning,
For the love that never came.

You told me you loved me,
But when I said it back.
You'd turn around and flee,
Forcing my heart to crack.

Every time you did this,
My heart broke more and more in two.
But with every given kiss,
I believed more and more that I loved you.

Then you'd turn and run,
Like the coward that you are.
You were having so much fun,
Playing with my heart.

It mended back together,
Tho it took awhile.
Now I've found someone for forever,
Someone to make me smile.
